In round 7 the South Sydney Rabbitohs first grade and NSW Cup teams have the bye. Therefore, this means that courtesy of the bye 2 points, Souths should move up off the bottom of the ladder if the winless Titans fail to overcome Manly on the Gold Coast on Saturday. Small steps..
In first grade it was an improved performance against the Sharks despite the horrendous bad luck with injuries and HIAs. The Jye Gray debut confirmed what I have been telling people for a while now, this young bloke can play.
Our NSW Cup defending premiers sit 4th on the table and could then find themselves as high as 2nd depending on results. Last week in the curtain raiser our Cup side were too good for the Newtown Jets winning 24-12.
Jersey Flegg Cup
The 9th placed Bunnies Jersey Flegg Cup team take on the last placed Fiji Kaiviti Silktails in round 7 at 1pm on Saturday the 20th April at Erskineville Oval.
Our Flegg boys have had 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. That 20 all draw happened last Saturday at Erskineville Oval against the Cronulla Sharks. Team manager Adam Crawley told Bunnies TV “Captain Louis Grossemy was players player against the Sharks, he had a blinder.
“Aaron Macey scored 2 tries and played well in his return game from injury. Josh Alhazim probably had his best game in the red and green.
“Young gun Matt Humphries looked right at home in his debut and Hayden Molkentien continued to perform strongly out on his wing.”
Fiji are yet to win a game in their inaugural season so they will be desperate to get on the board on Saturday. The match will be live streamed on NSWRLTV for subscribers.
