Anzac Day – Team List Tuesday

By Steve Mavin for Bunnies TV.

On Anzac Day this year the South Sydney Rabbitohs will travel down to Melbourne to take on the Storm. There can be no comparison between an NRL game and the hell that our heroic diggers bravely faced in Gallipoli. Souths can however, expect to face tremendous oppostion and a Victorian team that boasts attacking forces that can inflict multiple points upon us.

The Storm are led by their generals Cameron Munster, Jahrome Hughes and Harry Grant. They are then guarded by Nelson Asofa-Solomona and can roll out strike weapons Ryan Papenhuzen and Xavier Coates to name a few. The task faced by the depleted Bunnies is undeniably monumental.

Jai Arrow returns from injury. Damien Cook and Jacob Gagai have been recalled into the 17. Jye Gray will play make his 2nd career appearance at fullback.

Anzac Jersey

The Rabbitohs will wear a significantly Navy-themed jersey in the 2024 ANZAC Round, marking the third year of an ongoing partnership with the Royal Australian Navy. The jersey underscores our enduring commitment to the values we share with the Royal Australian Navy, including mateship, high performance, commitment to the team while achieving success.

The 2024 ANZAC Jersey proudly mirrors the Navy’s ‘sailor suits’ ceremonial uniform, similar to those worn by Royal Australian Navy personnel in the Second World War. Today, customary ‘sailor suits’ are reserved chiefly for ceremonial occasions, however, on those occasions when they are worn, they serve to remind Australians of the longevity of their Navy, its traditions and its consistent contribution to our nation’s maritime and economic security over more than 100 years.

Additionally, $5 from every Rabbitohs ANZAC jersey sold through the Rabbitohs will be donated to Keeping Watch, a perpetual charitable fund that provides assistance to serving members of the Royal Australian Navy and their families who are in financial need. Anzac Day

Anzac Day, 25th of April, is one of Australia’s most important national occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action in 1915 fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as Anzacs, and the pride they subsequently took in that name endures to this day.

Ode of Remembrance

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.
