All 4 Teams Can Win The Superbowl

The NFL Conference Championship games kick off on Monday morning AEST with all four teams having a realistic chance of victory. The winners of the AFC and NFC title games will meet in the Super Bowl in two weeks time.

‘Priceless’ Brock Purdy & ‘Magic’ Jordan Mailata are headline acts. When you add ‘Brilliant’ Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes ‘The Man’ into the mix, you have the blueprint for two classic NFL encounters.

The Eagles Have Landed

Aussie Jordan Mailata continues to amaze with his incredible career at the Philadelphia Eagles. The giant multi millionaire left tackle who grew up playing rugby league might just be holding the Lombardi Trophy aloft in a few weeks time.

The Eagles offensive line led by Lane Johnson are playing like an impenetrable brick wall. Mailatas blind side protection of star quarterback, MVP candidate Jalen Hurts gives his team a huge shot at Super Bowl glory.

Giving Hurts the time to find his immensely talented wide receivers AJ Brown and Devonta Smith spells trouble for any opposition.

It’s entirely possible that former Rabbitoh Mailata will be wearing a flashy Super Bowl ring around mid afternoon on Monday 13th February.

Purdy Good

The Brock Purdy arrival as the San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback is a story that you just couldn’t make up.

Trey Lance began the season as the man who was going to lead the famous club back to the top. Injury got in the way of those plans but a new saviour stepped in, the revitalised Jimmy Garoppolo.

The dreaded injury curse struck again, Jimmy G went down and the 9ers were forced to turn to their number 3 QB. What happened next is what dreams are made of.

Purdy, who was picked last by San Francisco in the 2022 NFL Draft (also known as Mr Irrelevant) has yet to lose a game as the 49ers’ starter since taking over in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins.

Priceless Purdy & Magic Mailata – Is Purdy the future?

The former Ohio State Cyclone has been nothing short of phenomenal at quarterback.

The positives for the San Francisco do however go way beyond their quarterback. When elite pass catching running back Christian McCaffrey was acquired in a blockbuster trade mid season, the 49ers added the final piece to the puzzle.

The list goes on in offence with guns like Deebo Samuel and George Kittle providing superb options for Purdy wherever he looks. It almost seems unfair that the 9ers defence is the leagues best led by the athletically supreme Nick Bosa.

A Super Bowl win by the 49ers would surprise no one and cap off a fairly tale season for Purdy. Any doubts as to his relevance will also be erased.

Chasing Burrow

Anyone who saw the way the Cincinnati Bengals dismantled the elite Buffalo Bills last week will know that their quarterback Joe Burrow means business in this playoff run.

In the opening possession Cincinnati capped its first drive with a 28-yard touchdown pass from Burrow to wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Former LSU teammates Burrow and Chase have formed an unstoppable connection which could take their team all the way to glory.

The Bengals have never won the Super Bowl and were defeated in the big one only last year by the LA Rams. Everyone loves an underdog including me so I’d be happy to see the men in the Tiger helmets finally secure the games ultimate prize.

Postman Pat Delivers

In the 2019 season, Patrick Mahomes II led the Kansas City Chiefs to Super Bowl LIV. This was their first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years, where they defeated the San Francisco 49ers. Mahomes was awarded the Super Bowl MVP for his performance, the youngest overall to do so.

Mahomes is the man in Kansas City.

Mahomes is a special talent, among the best to ever play the quarterback position. He’s tough too, really tough and whenever he’s on the field his team has a winning chance.

When Mahomes left the field last week, Chiefs fans held their breath. Tensions eased when their superstar QB returned to the field with a bandage on his ankle.

A high ankle sprain diagnosis is usually bad news but not for Pat. It’s been reported this week that Mahomes is moving freely and is in no doubt of missing the AFC title game.

Mahomes will play, his tight end Travis Kelce (is in some doubt but if he’s out there he) will dominate. An epic Super Bowl rematch with the 49ers would have the NFL and fans licking their lips with anticipation.

Who Wins?

I asked my Bunnies TV co-host Grant Chappell for his opinion and he said –

“You can make a case for all 4 teams to win this years Super Bowl”.

“The Chiefs have the only QB who has a Super Bowl. The Eagles have been the most consistent team all season. The 9ers haven’t lost a game since the CMC trade 12-0. The Joe Burrow led Bengals have never lost to the Chiefs led Mahomes, they are 3-0. The Bengals are also on a good winning streak of their own with 10 straight wins”.

I’m picking San Francisco to go one better than they did in 2019 for my mate, 9ers fan Gerald ‘Gezza’ Symonds. Together we’ve watched San Francisco lose two Super Bowls.

In 2013 after the Ravens win we drowned our sorrows at the Alexandria Hotel. We endured the 2019 loss to the Chiefs with Aussie NFL star Colin Scotts at the Coogee Bay Hotel.

Gezza told me on Monday “I think we can win mate. Trying to stay calm & not get too excited. The Giants were really bad too so they made the Eagles look good last week. Our defence is the best against the run so let’s see how they go against us. I thought with Mahomes healthy they were going to be hard to beat but it looks like he’s not going to 100% now”.

So third time lucky, let’s go 9ers!
