Rabbitohs Legend Jason Clark Retires
Earlier today South Sydney Rabbitohs fan favourite Jason Clark announced his retirement from rugby league. Significantly, his career has ended the way it began, with a win. This morning via Instagram Jason said “After almost 15 years of playing footy it has all come to an end. A lot of players donโt get to finish the way they want but being able to win the championship in Limoux was an amazing finishing touch.”
Clarks Career
In 2009 Jason Clark made his NRL debut in a 41-6 victory over the Dragons and became Rabbitoh #1072. He is also a Souths Junior who played for the Coogee Wombats club.
Clark played 169 games for Souths and will certainly be forever remembered as a member of the legendary 2014 premiership winning team.

“From playing at the Rabbitohs for over 10 years to moving to the North of England and playing there for 4 years and now living in the South of France I am so grateful for what Rugby League has been able to bring be and also my family. From my wife and three daughters to my Family and Friends we have made some amazing memories for life and I couldnโt wish for anyone better to do it with.”
“I have made great friends along this journey from coaches to players and everyone in between and want to thank them for everything.”
“Now onto the next chapter of working life, excited for whats ahead.”
Lots of love

Warrington Wolves
After 10 seasons at the Rabbitohs Jason moved to the UK and played 4 seasons with Warrington. He then played in the Wolves 2019 Challenge Cup win over St Helens. Jason subsequently moved to the south of France to play out his career with Limoux in the French competition.

Champion
I have known the Clark family my whole life. Jasons dad Gary grew up in the same street as me in Botany, NSW. Jasons mum Michelle is a lovely lady and also a passionate Souths supporter. I know without a doubt how proud Gary and Michelle are of their boy.
Above all, I have always known Jason to be a champion on and off the field. He was unquestionably destined for greatness and was always a tireless, dedicated worker. I’ll never forget the time I saw him on a road run after Souths had just won the 2014 Grand Final. When most players were on off-season trips to places like Bali, Jason was instead back on the job preparing for his next game.
Legend
In 2022 former teammate Abby El-zbaidieh told Bunnies TV that โJason Clark is also just one bloke who would always do anything to help anyone out and yeah he’s just a legend of a bloke.”
Lastly, Congratulations on a brilliant career Jason Clark. I have no doubt that whatever you do next will bring further success.
