Rabbitohs Junior Reps Round 5

By Steve Mavin for Bunnies TV.

Shark Park is the venue for this weekends Junior Rep round 5 matches against Cronulla on Saturday 2nd March. Lisa Fiaola Cup gets an early start at 9:00am. Tarsha Gale Cup follows at 10:45am, Harold Matthews Cup 12:30pm then SG Ball Cup 2:15pm.

Round 4 Recap

Seven games were played over the weekend with the Rabbitohs on the wrong end of the scoreboard in each match.

First Grade & Flegg

On Friday at Belmore the 2nd tier Roosters were too good for our Souths lads in round 2 of the NRL Pre-season challenge. At Leichhardt Oval the Tigers shot out to a sizeable lead in the 1st half of the Jersey Flegg trial game. The Bunnies were better in the 2nd half but went down by a 5 tries to 4 margin.

Not So Super Sunday

Sunday at Redfern started with a bang for our Harold Matthews Cup boys. They led the Warriors 16-4 and were in control of the game. The Kiwis youngsters hit back in the 2nd half to level the scores at 16 all. A Matt Humpries field goal handed the home side a 17-16 lead. With time running out a try by powerful Warriors lock Lennox Tuiloma snatched victory for his team. The siren sounded just seconds after the try was scored.

A late try saw Lennox Tuiloma snatch victory for his team. Watch the game replay on Bunnies TV YouTube and please subscribe.

Warriors Win Again

Big prop Jason Hallie was a late withdrawal from the SG Ball clash. Souths began well with a 3rd minute try to winger Jacob Fong. The Warriors pack then got to work and the visitors eventually ran away with a big 44-12 win.

Solid Starts

Our Lisa Fiaola girls survived an early avalanche of Bulldogs tries to hit back with a couple of four pointers of their own. Taylah Dower scored for the 2nd week in a row and Kirrawahn Duckett continued her streak of scoring in every game so far. It was all the undefeated Canterbury from then on, they scored an 11 tries to 2 win.

A similar situation unfolded in the following Tarsha Gale clash. A couple of early Bulldogs tries were answered by a Souths fullback Georgia Coote double. The also unbeaten Bulldogs steadied the ship and went on to record a 7 tries to 2 win.

I skipped through the replay of our 16s boys game on YouTube. The Bunnies battled with the Eels but went down around 5 tries to 4 in the end.
