At yesterdays pathways double header at Coogee Oval the South Sydney Rabbitohs defeated the North Sydney Bears 24-16 in the main game.

A crowd of around 1000 fans saw Shaquai Mitchell open the scoring for Souths. Big Shaq barged over next to the posts and continually troubled the opposition for the rest of the game. Mitchell will unquestionably be in contention for a spot in the first grade 17 that will take on the Cowboys this Sunday.

In the 17th minute a Tallis Duncan show and go was all class as he burst through the opposition defence. His precision pass then saw ‘Footy’ Dean Hawkins score the Rabbits 2nd try. The Bears hit back minutes later with a try to winger Jamon Wormleaton.

Try number 3 before the break for the Bunnies came after a slick backline movement to the right. The final pass from fullback Jacob Gagai was superb and sent his winger Tom Carr diving over in the corner.

After the break Tom Carr and Jacob Gagai combined again to score the try of the day. A cut out pass from Bears halfback Ben Stevanovic was intercepted by Carr. He then got the ball to Gagai who sprinted 85 metres down the field to score.

Jamon Wormleaton crossed for his 2nd try in the 65th minute. Fullback Josh Bergamin scored a late try but the Rabbitohs lead was too great to surpass.

This Sunday 25th June the Rabbitohs NSW Cup meet the Sea Eagles 3pm at HE Laybutt Field, Blacktown. The game will be live streamed on NSWRLTV Facebook.

Jersey Flegg

The Rabbitohs Jersey Flegg boys started well with two early tries to take a 10 nil lead over the Roosters. Souths centre Ethan Ferguson scored his 3rd try in as many weeks. Jaxson Rahme then powered over to score a minute later.

The tide did however turn in a big way after this point. The Roosters ran in 7 unanswered tries and additionally kicked 6 goals. In the 61st minute the scoreboard looked bleak for the Bunnies with a 40-10 scoreline.

A 3rd try in 3 weeks from talented hooker Archie Donnolly gave the Souths score some respectability but the damage was done. Final score 40-16.
