Juniors Reps Round 8 – Flegg – Cup

A 20-14 away win in Fiji gave our Jersey Flegg Cup team a 2-0 start to the season. Heavy rain left large puddles on the Churchill Park field but the Rabbitohs got the job done. Up next is a clash with the Roosters 3:00pm Sunday 24th of March at Wentworth Park.

Our SG Ball Cup lads came out firing and gave the 4th placed Wests Magpies a 42-6 hiding at Kirkham Oval, Elderslie. Souths scored 8 tries to 1 to record their 3rd win. This weekend in round 8 the Newcastle Knights await 12:50pm Saturday 23rd March at Cessnock Sportsground, Cessnock.

Our Harold Matthews Cup team have the bye in round 8. On Saturday they went down to the undefeated Magpies 26-14 after Josh Ballard scored the 1st try of the game.

Our 11th placed Lisa Fiaola team travel to Kirkham Oval in Camden to take on the 4th placed West Tigers girls.

Our Jersey Flegg boys will attempt to keep their unbeaten record intact at Wentworth Park, Glebe on Sunday. The Roosters have started the season 0-2 with losses to the Panthers and Sea Eagles.

NSW Cup v Roosters 5:30pm Sunday 24th March

Fresh after the round 2 bye our NSW Cup will take on the Roosters in the curtain raiser to the first grade game on Friday night at Allianz Stadium.

The Chooks are 1-1 after a loss in round 1 to the Panthers and a 34-12 win over Blacktown Workers in round 2. Souths lost to Blacktown in round 1 so this will be a big test for the defending premiers.

Jye Gray has been named at fullback. Dion Teaupa and Izaac Tu’itupou Thompson are back from injury. Jacob Gagai and Lachy Ilias will start.
