Exclusive images and footage of the Australian Rugby League Kangaroos training at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ Old Trafford, Manchester UK.
It was smiles all round as the Kangaroos squad prepares for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup final against Samoa.
Rabbitohs stars Latrell Mitchell, Cameron Murray and Campbell Graham joined their Aussie teammates for a training session on the hallowed turf of the iconic Old Trafford ground. The venue also known as the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ is the home of the Manchester United F.C. Red Devils.
Coach Mal Meninga has named an unchanged Kangaroos lineup from the 17 that defeated New Zealand 16-14 in the semi final. The Kangaroos are the defending champions and also heavy favourites to take their 3rd consecutive RLWC title. Despite this, the Samoans will rely on the emotion of the occasion in their attempt to lift the team to victory.
During a chat to the assembled media Bunnies captain Cameron Murray said that he’s “never been more nervous before a game” ahead of the blockbuster clash.
The Rock Sends A Message
In a massive boost for organisers, the game was given huge exposure on the global stage after superstar Samoan Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson delivered an emotional hype speech to his legion of fans. On Instagram alone ‘The Rock’ has 238 million followers so league boss Peter Vlandys is basically licking his lips in anticipation of the extra audience this will bring.
These pictures and video were sent to us by Grant Chappells cousin Leigh Kearns who is in England with her partner Andrew King to watch the World Cup.
The Australian Rugby League Kangaroos take on Samoa on Sunday 20th November at 3am (AEST) at Old Trafford.
