The Rabbitohs Vote Yes
Today in Redfern Park the Rabbitohs announced their support for the yes vote. Later, CEO Blake Solly then told Bunnies TV “Today we’ve announced our support for constitutional recognition for Indigenous people and a direct voice to parliament.”
During the press conference Mr Solly said “Firstly as a club we are extremely proud of what we believe to be a unique connection with the Indigenous community. 15% of our full time staff are Indigenous.”
Blake Solly then explained that the club gathered 30 staff members before deciding on the clubs position. “It was an emotional discussion, it was very moving and very considered.”
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had a chat to Rabbitohs star winger Alex Johnston before addressing the media.
Mr Albanese made a passionate plea at the press conference. He summed up the yes vote by saying that by voting yes Australia had “everything to gain and nothing to lose.”
Mr Albanese then said that constitutional recognition of Indigenous Australians will help close the gap.
Ray Martin
Ray Martin told Bunnies TV “If you want to improve the lives of all aboriginal people and Australians as a result, vote yes.”
Ray is set to appear on channel 7 on the coming days to voice his opinion on the yes vote.
Alisha Parker-Elrez & Aunty Norma
Souths Cares CEO Alisha Parker-Elrez admitted to previously being “a bit on the fence” with the Yes or No vote but finally decided to follow elders like Aunty Normas advice to vote Yes.
Rachel Perkins
Filmmaker Rachel Perkins finally stated “This is another great milestone on the journey to unity.”
