Standouts At Rabbitohs Training
A cool day at Redfern today saw the Rabbitohs players put through their paces by the clubs experienced coaching staff lead by Jason Demetriou.

The slim cut figure of Shaquai Mitchell stood out at training. Shaq is poised for a big season after his selection in the All Stars game in New Zealand.
All Stars

The NRL All Stars is in Rotorua New Zealand. The Maori Kiwis take on the Indigenous All Stars on Saturday the 11th of February 2023.
Shaq will join his his younger brother Latrell and 5/8 Cody Walker in the annual cultural clash. Shaq has a big opportunity to cement a permanent spot in the 17 with the exit of Mark ‘The Goat’ Nicholls. He has a unique skill set for a front rower. He can unquestionably do the tough stuff but can also create second phase play with his silky ball skills. Believe it or not Shaq played in the halves as a teenager for the Taree Red Rovers in his junior days.
Bigger Blake
Blake Taaffe filled in at fullback in the absence of super star Latrell Mitchell who was attending a media promo. Taaffey has undeniably put a bit of size on during a gruelling preseason under new high performing guru Andrew Croll.

The 23 year olds versatility will see him play a number of positions including fullback, halfback and 5/8. Despite this he is expected to start the season in the number 14 jumper.
Izaac Thompson
The right wing spot is up for grabs with the departure of Jaxson Paulo. The tall and athletic winger Izaac Thompson looks likely to get the 1st opportunity on the right wing outside Kangaroo tourist Campbell Graham in 2023.

He is of solid build standing at 192cm and 102kgs. Thompson’s ability to get his team on the front foot with his tough carrys will be a huge boost for the Bunnies. Izaac had a breakout season in NSW Cup in 2022. Crossing for 20 tries from only 16 games. Pairing his try scoring ability with club record holder Alex Johnston is an exciting prospect for the up coming season.
Die Hards
A handful of Rabbitohs die hards were on hand to watch the session including Bunnies TV columnist and club historian Brad Ryder.

The Bunnies squad is therefore quietly confident of a much better start than last season while the majority of the squad are fit and healthy heading into season 2023.
