Off-Season of a Rabbitohs tragic

The off-season of a Rabbitohs tragic begins when that final whistle is blown at the conclusion of the last game.

For the previous 7 months when that whistle blew you knew it was only another week for the next game. But what happens when you have to wait 5 months until the next game?

The South Sydney Rabbitohs take up a huge part of the social life of a tragic. Not to mention the people we see each and every week. Whether it be in the stands or at the post match function celebrating a win.

It’s not only attending games. It’s the travel that comes with it. The many functions held during the year. It’s time taken reading all the Souths content on social media or news. Watching the boys on Bunnies TV continue to give us so much content.

Most of that dies off once the season is done.

The Off-Season

I know a few who regularly get down to training to get their fix. Sadly work for many including myself interferes with that.

We were lucky enough this year to have the Rugby League World Cup. With so many of our players representing their countries there was plenty of interest for us Rabbitohs fans.

Although the time difference made it hard at times to watch.

Other sports just don’t compare to the feeling I get when watching the Rabbitohs play. Sure it fills the gap, but nothing will come close to the joy of Souths winning or the heartbreak of a loss. I guess for me the closest would be the NFL.

The off-season is a good time to rest up from the stress you go through of riding that roller coaster during the year. To get the blood pressure back down.

Happy New Year

Once you get past Christmas and New Years you’re ready for it all to come around again. Ready to board that roller coaster. Knowing that the season isn’t that far away.

First the trials. They give you a bit of a taste of what’s to come. Getting to see other fellow tragic Rabbitohs you haven’t seen since that final whistle.

Then a couple of weeks later and the season starts.
