Norm Lipson is a journalist, author, life long ‘really mad’ Rabbitohs fan and close friend of club legend George Piggins. I caught up with Norm for a chat on Easter Monday as he watched the team train at Erskineville Oval.

Watch on Rabbitohs TV.

In our chat Norm said “I was there when he (George Piggins) had the unbelievable fight with Malcolm Reilly. In fact I was there with another Souths supporter at the Cricket Ground and we had a couple of Manly supporters sitting behind us and George inspired us to get into a fight with them.”

This is Norms rugby league team from Coogee Public. It is the 4stone 7lbs team. Norm is in the middle, third from the left. Most of these blokes came from Souths families.

“All I want to say is that thanks to George Piggins’ leadership and determination, the Rabbitohs exist today,” Norm Lipson SMH July 2021
