This action packed Grand Final between Mascot & La Perouse was played at Redfern Oval in 1984.
The Mascot team had five future Rabbitohs in their line up. Brad Webb #745, Glen Graham #746, Darren Maroon #761, Mark Lyons #778 & Ian Roberts #744.
Just before full time an ‘all in brawl’ erupted.
Mascot coach Frank Cookson gave an interview before the game. C Grade team member Andrew McCann said “Frank was the best coach I ever played under. What about his Elton John glasses, make sure you give them a mention don’t let him away with that without a pay out.”
