A Player To Watch In 2023 – Louis Grossemy

South Sydney Rabbitohs boom rookie Louis Grossemy will undoubtedly be a player to watch in 2023. The 20-year-old is the latest star to be making an impact in the pathways system.

Grossemy has been training with the NRL squad throughout the pre-season and has certainly been gaining valuable experience for the up coming season.

Signed from the Roosters in 2021, he has indeed made his presence felt at the club.

Milestones

Significantly, last year Grossemy was named captain of the SG Ball team. The strapping forward was subsequently named player of the year.

A local junior formerly from the Coogee Randwick Wombats club, Grossemy finished the season playing in the Jersey Flegg team.

Another milestone was achieved when he was selected to play for France in the European U19s Championships. He represented France through his French heritage for the 1st time at the tournament in Italy.

They were narrowly defeated 14-12 in the final by England. Louis was honoured with man of the match for his team.

He was also selected at lock in the team of the tournament.

French officials have said they view Grossemy as a potential member of their 2025 World Cup squad.

It’s no surprise that Grossemy is excelling in Rugby League as he has sport in his blood. Louis mother Samantha O’Brien was a champion ironwoman. In 1992 she was the first ever winner of the Australian ironwoman as well as taking out the Nutri-Grain ironwoman event.

2023 Season

With the season due to kickoff soon, Louis has told Bunnies TV that he’s primed for a big year. Weighing in at 95kg, he’s worked hard in the off season.

Get to know Louis Grossemy.

Grossemy is expected to start the year in the Jersey Flegg team. Strong performances in the early games could see him selected in the NSW Cup squad.

I have watched Louis develop as a player from a young age. He has potential and commitment, a high work-rate, is a strong defender with the ability to play edge or in the middle.

Louis footwork at the line is also a huge asset and valued by his coaches.

Therefore Louis Grossemy is unquestionably my player to watch in 2023.
